What?

pan0.net is a free interactive panorama hosting service. Anybody can share images in equirectangular format that are viewed through convenient, online viewer, based on Flash Player 9, no other plugins required. Just click and dive straight into the picture. Anybody can embed chosen panorama directly into his/hers web page or blog, just like youtube video. No ads included.

pan0.net also offers interface to browse immersive panoramas from flickr.

Why?

There is a saying that a picture is worth more than 1000 words. Imagine how many words an interactive panorama is worth :)

I want to be a publisher, tell me more

Currently, pan0.net supports equirectangular projected panoramas in JPG format, 8MB max size. This is enough to show high-detailed panorama in full-screen mode.

pan0.net provides a simple and intuitive interface to upload your images and organize them in galleries. They are instantly ready to be viewed interactively by anyone. It's that simple. Please, take a look at the current panoramas to see how can you present your work.

If you are or want to be a VR photographer, there is quite a lot of software, that let's you stitch pictures in an equirectangular panorama image. A good starting place to learn how to do this kind of pictures is PanoTools wiki. A good open-source software for making panoramas is Hugin.

If you are an interior designer or doing architectural visualisations - an interactive panorama is much more expressive than simple renders. When you have modelled the scene in a 3D modeller anyway why not render it with a spherical camera and publish it as an interactive panorama?

Currently pan0.net is one-man effort.

I have a lot of ideas for improvement and polishing the rough edges. Some of them are: gallery and panorama descriptions, better navigation, search, flickr integration, user rating, user comments, regular fresh news, tutorials... and this is just the tip of the iceberg.

If this site becomes popular I'll be able to realize them. It depends on you. If you think pan0.net is cool then ideas will become reality. Let's make this service better!
